Ancient Papermaking, Paper Quilling & Shrinky Dinks
As Labor Day approaches, let’s have fun learning to make art out of paper together! Our Labor Day workshops will help develop you child’s appreciation of art and improve their manipulative skills, hand-eye coordination and creativity as they create beautiful works of paper art!
It is a great pleasure to invite you and your child to join us for one of our Labor Day Parent-Child Paper Craft Workshops at our store in Ruijing Mall. We have 3 exciting workshops to choose from: Ancient Papermaking, Paper Quilling and Shrinky Dinks.
 

Ancient Papermaking

Papermaking is one of the four great inventions of ancient China. During this workshop, our teacher will help educate children more about the invention of paper. Then, using paper pulp and the proper tools, the teacher will lead each child through the papermaking process to create their very own piece of paper! After making their paper they will decorate them with fresh flowers and plants, resulting in works of beauty made by your child from scratch! Your child will love this hands-on activity and the creative work of art that results.  
 

Paper Quilling

Paper quilling, also called paper rolling, is a unique form of paper art that children love. Basically, it involves a set of techniques that include rolling, kneading, piecing together and pasting strips of paper. The charm of this art form lies in its limitless possibilities for creative expression. During this workshop, parents and children will work together to roll up long and thin strips of papers into small design elements using special tools. Then they combine these small elements to make a larger artistic pattern. In the process of rolling, folding, and kneading the paper strips, children will develop their creative skills and also work on their fine motor skills.

Shrinky Dinks

Shrinky Dinks are a fun way to transform small doodles into things like rings, key chains, and other accessories. During this workshop, we will use colored pencils to paint heat-shrink sheets. After drawing, these sheets will be shrunk into tiny little keepsakes. Children will love to see their art become lasting by the magic of shrink technology! It’s a craft workshop and science experiment in one!
