"Confidence is the cornerstone of success." In order to build the students' confidence, here are a few tips:

1. Trust your child and encourage them. Tell them: “you can do it”!  

2. Recognize all of the positive characteristics of your child. Do not compare your child’s shortcomings with another child’s. It will only end up being counterproductive, making your child feel self-doubt in their abilities. I think if your child is making improvements in things such as behavior or academics, you should give them praise. You want to help children build courage and confidence, especially when a difficult situation arises.  Help the children develop an "I can do it" attitude. 

Building children's self-confidence is an important topic. As a teacher, it is crucial to not only be their mentor, but a friend as well. We need to be positive role models for the children to look up to. Parents and teachers can both work together to improve a child’s educational experience, and to build their confidence.  Through positive reinforcement, encouragement, and acting as good examples we can create a lasting impact on the student.
