Little Doctor’s Set & The Child Who Flies a Kite

Dear Parents,

Welcome to our theme Professions and Neighborhood!

Toy and Learning Material Suggestions
We’ve designed a perfect learning package to help Seniors explore this important new theme. This learning package includes a very educational book and an imaginative learning material that your child will surely love!

The Child Who Flies a Kite is a great book for teaching children about the importance of protecting the environment. It takes place in a world where there are no trees, no birds, no fresh air . . . only tall, dark buildings. A little boy name Luo dreams of escaping this sad environment by climbing to the top of a building. There he can see the moon and stars and fly his kite.

The Little Doctor’s Set is a great learning material for encouraging children to imaginatively role-play as doctors or nurses. When students indulge in socio-dramatic play, it helps them to make sense of the world around them. They cultivate social and emotional intelligence and much more. While playing with the doctor’s set, children will learn about the use of some of the equipment used by doctors. They will learn new words like syringe, stethoscope, thermometer, ECG machine and much more.

Additional Learning Tips

Here are a few suggestions to help you guide your child though the theme of Professions and Neighborhood;

• It would be fun to allow your child to participate in volunteer work organized by your community.  This will help her to appreciate work and different workers.

• Spare an area at home for your child to build different play areas like a post office, a school, a hospital or a restaurant to encourage dramatic play. Take turns to participate in different role-plays.

• As children are curious about the nature mommy and daddy’s work or the workplace, it would be a fantastic idea to take your child to visit your workplace and allow him to observe you at work for a day.

• To help increase the vocabulary of your child, make a set of some picture word cards of different community helpers and another set of short descriptions of their work. Play matching games with your child.

• Spare time to read stories related to different professions to your child.
