The Cash Register& The First Visit to the Library

Dear Parents,

Welcome to our theme Professions and Neighborhood!

Toy and Learning Material Suggestions
We’ve designed a perfect learning package to help Juniors explore this important new theme. This learning package includes a very informative book and an imaginative learning material that your child will surely love!

The First Visit to the Library will teach Juniors all about what makes libraries fun and useful. It’s a great book for children who are planning to visit the library for the very first time. Little readers will learn the rules of the library and all about the important job of the librarian.

The Cash Register is a fantastic learning material that encourages imaginative play in young children. It’s the perfect centerpiece for role-playing with others, allowing children to develop their cognitive, linguistic, social and emotional skills. As they play, they work on taking turns, sharing, and problem solving. They will expand their vocabulary with new words like cash, receipt, scanner, and more, as well as enhancing their number recognition and developing their motor skills.

Additional Learning Tips
Here are a few suggestions to help you guide your child through the theme of Professions and Neighborhood;

 Talk to your child about what she might want to become when she grows up. She may have many different views, but appreciate all of her ideas and encourage her.

• Role-play together pretending to work different professions. This will help your child appreciate all kinds of professions.

• Whenever you visit the shopping mall, give opportunities for your child to interact with the cashier at the cash register.

• To help your child understand and differentiate between professions and their workplaces, take small field trips to various workplaces like the hospital, a school, a bank or a library within the neighborhood.

• Role-play with your child as buyers and sellers to demonstrate a shopping scenario. Use the cash register to record the process of buying and selling various items.

• Prepare a set of picture cards of different community helpers and another set of cards with the written names of the community helpers. Play fun matching games with these cards.

Thanks for allowing us to share a few suggestions that will help you guide your children  through the Professions and Neighborhood theme. We hope you find them useful!
