【周末家庭主题活动】恐龙

亲爱的家长们：

我们下一个学术主题是恐龙。我们想要邀请您作为合作伙伴加入我们下一个即将到来的主题家庭活动。这是一个很棒的户外主题，因为孩子们可以探索外面的世界。

对于孩子们，了解恐龙最好的学习材料是关于恐龙的书和恐龙玩具。系列书籍-“恐龙如何做……”这套书对孩子们是非常有益的，因为它可以教导孩子们礼仪和数字，同时也可以让他们了解到不同种类的恐龙。

恐龙玩具也是很棒的学习材料，因为它们以一个很有趣的方式教会孩子比较不同类型之间的相似点和不同点，比如霸王龙和迅猛龙。

给你的孩子一个具有更大升值的题材，花些时间向他们解释这些动物之间的差异（如哪些是草食恐龙，以及它们用两条腿还是四条腿走路)。给他们创造一种可以让他们对恐龙了解更多的环境。

做工艺品是提升孩子主题体验的另一种方式，和你的孩子一起用颜料和金鱼眼做一只恐龙。轻轻地把颜料涂在孩子的拇指，手掌还有小拇指上。拇指作为头部，小拇指作为尾巴。为了添加更多细节，你可以在恐龙尾巴上用小钉加上峰角。

另外一种有趣的方式是用一盒子沙子把恐龙玩具埋起来，然后让孩子们挖！一旦他们发现一只在沙子里的恐龙，看看他们是否可以说出这只恐龙的名字和有关它的特征。

请记住，不论孩子们是否有在家做过任何家庭主题活动，但他们每一个人一定会完全参与到我们的教室活动中。谢谢你！

Dear parents,
Our next academic theme is Dinsoaurs. We would love to invite you as partners to participate in an at-home activity tied to our upcoming theme. This is yet another great theme for getting outside and exploring the outside world.

The best materials available for learning about dinosaurs are books and dinosaur toys. The book series “How Do Dinosaurs...” is informative because it teaches children about things such as manners and numbers, while also exposing them to different kinds of dinosaurs. Dinosaur toys are excellent as well, because they are a fun way to teach children the similarities and differences between different types, such as the tyrannosaurus-rex and the raptor.

To give your child a greater appreciation of the subject material, take the time to explain to them the differences between these animals (e.g. which animals ate plants, and whether they walked on two or four legs). Providing this context will allow them to make more sense of dinosaurs in the classroom.

Crafts are another way to enhance your child’s experience with this theme. Using paint and googly eyes, you can make a dinosaur with your child. Simply put the paint on your child’s thumb, palm, and pinky finger. The thumb will serve as the head, and the pinky finger will be the tail. To add more detail, you can add spikes to the dinosaur’s back.

Another fun option is to bury dinosaur toys in a box of sand and have your child dig them up! Once they find a dinosaur in the sand, see if they can tell you the name of the dinosaur and a specific detail about it.

Please remember that every child is always fully involved in our classroom activities, whether or not they have done any theme-related activities at home. Thank you!
