I usually arrive at school just after 8 am and up until 9 am I am literally on the edge of my seat waiting for children to arrive! Some arrive with tears in their eyes, a few run around outside before getting through the School doors and others are eager to get to their classroom! 

 

No doubt that time of day is painful for parents and children alike (particularly those new to school!) but I am so eager to see their smiling and cheery faces.

 

“Good morning!” I will exclaim over and over to student after student and “how are you today? Are you happy?” Mostly this elicits a very positive response and I hope that a warm welcome from teachers helps make the transition from home to school that little bit easier.
