Stuttering

Recently, I had been getting off of work late, and every time I came home, my daughter couldn't wait to share with me the interesting things that had happened to her and her sister at home that day.

Daughter: "Mom, Grandma secretly gave me chocolate today!"

Me: I laughed and asked, “Is chocolate delicious? How many pieces did you eat? Did your sister eat it?"

Daughter: "Very! I ate two, and sister ate some too. "

Grandma: "What's going on? She's been stuttering lately."

In fact, my daughter’s grandmother is not the only one in the family who was becoming nervous because of my daughter’s stuttering—my daughter’s father was as well. Every time his daughter stutters, he tries to correct her.

What about me? I'm not nervous at all. This is a normal phenomenon.

My daughter began stuttering around the age of three. Her language skills have always been well developed: her speech is clear and her pronunciation is accurate.

The illusion of "stuttering" shows that her logical thinking abilities are also quietly building.

Sometimes her mind is already very clear, but the language has not been sorted out, and she cannot wait to express it.

Her mind is not always prepared for the words she is about to say.

Haven't we all had a similar experience? It's just that we know that we can first pause before speaking in order to give us enough time to sort out our own language and ideas.

This "stuttering" phenomenon is only a sign— a sign of development.

As long as we do not unnecessarily strengthen it, they will smoothly navigate through this short period.

Therefore, don’t worry about it. But if we really want to do something, we can naturally summarize and repeat her expressions after each time she says them.
